Crackling sound from the air purifier

Modified on Wed, 4 Nov at 11:48 AM

An occasional crackle is normal: it's the sound of larger particles being zapped by the high-voltage field. If you hear it constantly, here's what to check.

  1. Make sure the wires on the wire frame are clean and not coated with dust or debris. Clean them gently, as the wires are delicate.
  2. Make sure the wire frame and collecting plates are completely dry before turning the unit on. Moisture disrupts the electrical process, causes crackling, and in the worst case can damage the unit.
  3. Make sure the contact points on the wire frame and collecting plates are clean so they make a solid, stable connection.
